Letter from the from the SouthShore Chamber of Commerce:
We have exciting news…the famous WATER TOWER on US 41 in Apollo Beach is getting a much needed facelift!
Local Artist Michael Parker has been selected to lead the new design. In the coming months, Michael and the Chamber will be hosting a series of public workshops aimed at forming a design that represents our unique community. This is an exciting opportunity to come together and increase the power of one of our local landmarks.
There will be multiple ways that you can participate in the design process. If you cannot attend the workshops, there will be an online survey to accept your ideas and input. We will also have social media outlets available for updates and conversation threads.
As you all know the South Shore area is growing rapidly. We would like the new art for the water tower to reflect our community and become something that we can be proud of. We are encouraging participation from all South Shore residents.
We will be announcing the workshop and participation dates very soon, so please stay tuned!
* Art for the South Shore Water Tower is provided by The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners through their Public Art Program.
