MiraBay Market: More Than Just A Place to Shop
Terrific news! A brand new farmer’s market is coming our way in Apollo Beach.
Farmer’s Markets Help Build Community
Hometown markets are a great place to find local produce and hand-made goods, but they’re much more than that, too. They’re a fun community event.
South Shore is growing (or, exploding according to some). New families are moving here all of the time while long-time residents are watching it change before their very eyes. When a community grows like ours, it’s important to develop a sense of community so you don’t wind up with a bunch of disconnected neighborhoods.
Farmer’s markets are a tried and true way to help bring the community together and they promote local business. Of course, the modern day farmer’s market is much more than just a few produce stands. It’s an event and the new MiraBay Market is the perfect example.
MiraBay: A Modern Market
When MiraBay Market launches on September 18, it’ll be the result of months of work on the part of the market’s organizers; months of promotions, seeking vendors, and organizing logistics.
The MiraBay Market season will run from September to April and each month’s market will have a different theme. Can you say Pumpkin Palooza? (October 2016 Market)
Fifty vendors, local to the South Shore, Tampa, St. Petersburg and surrounding areas, will participate in each month’s market. The variety of what you’ll find is pretty amazing: food, clothing, art, jewelry, coffee, home and bath accessories, pet products, local honey and more.
Fun, family-friendly activities are part of each month’s theme. A live band, Green Light Go Band, will play for the Grand Opening event. In October, families can participate in a pumpkin crafting contest (all materials supplied by MiraBay Market). In November, during the ‘Fall Harvest’ themed market, you’ll have the opportunity to win free prizes from the vendors.
MiraBay Market is set to be a regular, fun monthly event. Mark it on your calendars, South Shore!
